Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej Now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to be awarded a score of 10 for an Olympic event. Bela Karrolyi is a Romanian gymnastics instructor, who later became the coach for Comaneci, first discovered Comaneci at the age of six. Comaneci participated for the first time in the 1969 national junior championships. She finished 13th. Following that, she was crowned champion. In her very first international competition in 1972, she won the event by winning three gold awards. When she made her debut as a Senior in the year 1975, she defeated Russian Lyudmila Turkishcheva, the five-time European champion who won four gold medals and one silver. She was the first woman ever to successfully perform reverse double saltos while dismounting from an uneven parallel bar. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. When she was a teen Carol Wayne started working in the entertainment field by performing in the form of a figure skater. Along with her sister Nina Wayne she was part of a show that traveled called Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was born on the 6th of September 1942 on the 6th of September 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol's professional career started in the entertainment industry in her teens. At the age of a girl, she began performing as an ice skater with Nina Wayne in the travelling entertainment show Ice Capades. These shows included the ice skating of which was followed by musical performances.
